Does anyone who lives in the UK have a suspended wooden floor with a large fish tank on it. 6 foot kinda size and weighs loads! Or can these only go on solid concrete floors?

I'd advise u start by getting some1 to check the building for it's structure.

A tank that size is a problem but it depends on the weight of the filled up tank and then the floor the type of wood the way it's layed out (jus accross the room or if it has and thing to setenthen the floor. It's all a bit confusing but if you could post more details it would help and also it also depends on the location of the tank and how the floor is connected to the walls and the age of the building

Its going to be up against the wall. Not sure on how any of its layed out of fixed. Gonna have to get that checked i guess.
I spose it is possible though to strengthen it so it is possible to have a tank like that. Thats what i want to know really. Or is it a complete NO GO??

How many gallons?
I'm sure a 6 foot tank would be just fine.... floors can usually hold up to 1500 pounds. My house was also built in 1989...

145 UK gallons.

Just spoke to a mate whos a chippy and he said only way to know is to take up floor boards to check and calculate what it can take and reinforce if needed.

Either way I know I can have my dream tank :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:  B)
