Well, after speaking to our vet about the risks of having another litter from Chloe after her caesarian (apparently zero risk connected to that!!!) we have decided to have one more from her. This is her second, and last litter. We will be keeping one puppy to show, assuming she has any bitches (couldn't have a dog again!!!Nightmare...)

She's just had her eyes tested again (they were clear) and we're having her DNA profiled before we mate her :D She's due to come into season mid-July so we'll have to get on with it!

Her 'husband' will be SH CH Naiken Kris JW :D He's a champion about 3 times over and apparently he does picking up in thew winter too  Chloe is very big and had some big puppies in the last litter (I include Riley in that who now weighs over 40kilos!! ) so we've chosen that stud dog to try to get smaller puppies in this litter.

Anyway, here's our beautiful girlie Chloe

And here's Kris

Fingers crossed for babies please! :D

Good luck, Jessica! ;) You've got some beautiful parents there, I'm sure their babies will be just as adorable. Good on you for showing & testing the Mom and Pops! I wish more people who wanted to breed do what you're doing. Do either of the parents work? I love watching Labs work, I went to a dock diving event a couple weeks ago, those Labs can jump!

She's really beautiful, congratulations.

Just wanted to pick this statement out though because I find it horrifying that any vet would say there's "zero" risk to Chloe. There is a very real risk breeding any litter (as I'm sure you know), but even more so with her history and previous surgery. She is unlikely to be able to deliver naturally, and then there's the risk of another section (or rupture). Most vets prefer to spay at the same time as a C section to prevent it happening again (although it's down to each vet to work out that), but NO vet should be advocating another litter saying there's "zero" risk - the owner needs to be aware of the very real risk. That's disgraceful, I would definitely seek out a better vet because it doesn't sound like yours has a clue. :(

She is gorgeous thoug, and I wish you the best of luck.

Kathy - If you re-read my first post you'll see i said there is no risk connected to the caeasarian. And one of you're points were incorrect that i know of (im not a vet but we have spoken to several), there is no reason that Chloe shouldn't have the litter normally this time. Have a caesarian does not affect that at all unless there was a medical reason. For Chloe's last litter one puppy had died and got stuck, which was the reason for the caesarian I mean no disrespect but i think that you really should research your statement completely before calling any vets clueless

Splashstuff - Chloe doesn't work, she is just a pet and showdog, though she catches rabbits on most walks if that counts? Dad does pickign up in the winter as well as agility and the showing of course :)

Suzie - If you're really interested i can let you know prices when we have puppies and know what we have! :D

hi
jessica, shes so pretty, her husband will be a very lucky dog lol, we have always had pet dogs and other things, good luck with her pregnancy hope all goes well, cant wait to see the pics, all the best donna :good: .

She is stunning Jessica good luck with the future pups and you never know we might bump into eachother at the Champ shows

Nice to see another responsible breeder like ourselves and hope you have plenty of success in the ring

I Really do think you need to take a step back from some of these Topics KathyM this is 2 topics recently that you have managed to turn into an argument and sorry but i am sure other members are thinking the same but i speak my thoughts out loud :)

Thank you Graham :D

We'll be at most of the show's with cc's this summer. You have daxies though, right? They're always on a different day to Gundogs, but we may well see you out with our pug!! :D She's 6 months Thursday and has her first show at Blackpool the day after so if you're there you're more than welcome to come over and say hi!! :D

good luck jessica, the parents are beautiful and I wish you all the best :good:

I think Kathy's just got the wrong end of the stick, dont worry about it :) neither of you are wrong

we may be coming down to Blackpool because it isnt to far but we wont be showing again till these pups are ready and they are only 7 weeks now lol

Geo - I am not worried about it, i know my dog will be well looked after by myself and our vets so do not need to listen to nonsense  and thank you for the compliments about Chloe! :D

Graham, i look forward to seeing you at Blackpool then hopefully! Our pups an Eastonite pug called Paulovna (you should be able to find her in the catalogue if you get it, though it is spelt wrong cos of my awful handwriting! ) i will warn you though, she does demand cuddles from everyone! :D

Will you be starting ringcraft with the pup soon? I love ringcraft with the babies! :D

we are keeping 1 pup ourselves and my sister is keeping one aswell so we will be taking them both to ringcraft.
I enjoy ringcraft but the only problem we have living out in the sticks is we have a 70 mile round trip to our nearest classes :/

Im quite lucky to have three ringcraft classes within a 15 minute drive, as well as puppy training classes! So we get to take our pups out several times a week which they enjoy :D I cant imagine having to drive 70 miles for a ringcraft class

Oooh, a friend of mine at our ringcraft class has daxies! Her girl Dora just got her first CC a couple of weeks ago!!! :D I love those dogs, they're just so cute and friendly!!!

Yes, absolutely serious - omg if she turns out a brindle pup I'll swap you my house for it

Seriously, we have been talking about getting a puppy for Dylan now he's old enough to not chew it (he's 3.5 - 4 in Nov) and of course we want to get it for Christmas, not because we think everyone should buy animals for Christmas (before anyone gets going on that one) but for the most obvious reason - if we buy him a 300 quid puppy in September, we wont be able to afford presents again in December.

Sasha, our existing lab is 6 now and we'd like another dog so we don't end up dogless at any point, kwim....

Now theres an insult!

Labs can't be brindle. Tan point /brindle point ones exist and are a breed fault but a brindle body can only come from a bar sinister in the background. Any "brindle labs" are actually mongrels.
