Labour For 40 Hours?

My platy has been in labour for 40 hours now and only produced 3 fry, she is still squared off and has the gravid spot, any idea why it's taking so long??

Well the platy could just be taking her time. All the fry will be produced one by one and some take longer to come out than others. Some may be ready to come out and others may not be fully developed yet. As long as you take care of the mother and make sure she isn't eating them there should be more fry soon.

Thankyou, well yes I'm feeding her twice a day so when she gives birth hopefully she's too full up to eat them! The 3 fry I have now are doing well in their breeder tank!
