Hey guys, i was wondering if you could help me with this.
In my tank i currently have 6 L.Hongi,1 OB Peacock, 1 mysterious pseudotropheos, 3 bristlenose plecos and now 2 Yellow Labs in a 40gal.
I used to have 5 Yellow Labs but one by one they've been getting killed off, im suspecting the OB Peacock did it, as therre has been some aggresion showing from him, anyone agree with me? If so, i will probably give him to another home.

Any suggestions and help would be great

OK. I had this problem recently with my labs. I noticed the labs would be hiding and not eating all that much, then getting weird black bands on them then dying. I would never see them being physically attacked but I did suspect my peacock who is the boss of the tank (though currently being rivalled by my dominant EB juvie). I asked a breeder and a few other peeps about the black bands and it turned out they get them when fed too much protein (weird, since I hadn' changed their diet since I got them)...then I read they get the bands when stressed.

So in the end I did blame my peacock but it was too late by the time I realised. I now have one dominant EY male who can stand up to the peacock. He is the only EY in the tank though and I am hoping to get him a harem soon :p

Thanks Angry :)
I've noticed bars on them but they are very faint, but they still eat as much as they used to, but one of the two does hide quite a bit.

BTW - all water stats are fine, and temp is just right(81F)
