I have had one thriving here for over a year… they must be rarer in the hobby, as I don’t often see them in pictures or for sale… maybe they are harder to breed??? mine has been easy to take care of, though not particularly a bio film eater… mine must now be an adult, as it’s between 5 and 6 inches long… anyone else have one???

mine out sunning himself this morning…

this is where I got mine, quite a while ago… listed with the sellers info on the fish…

Peckoltia braueri is one I've looked at, but not ever gotten. They're nice looking, but I just can't get into Loracarid catfish. I've unpacked them a few times from imports, so they do come in. I don't expect you'd see them in any but the best aquarium stores.
When I see nice, less common Loracarids, somehow my cheapness kicks in in a way it doesn't for other groups of fish. They should be fascinating, and they deserve attention, but not from me.
They're not algae or biofilm eaters - as omnivores reputed to prefer higher protein fare.

I was intentionally not cleaning the front glass, for this fish, but never saw it on the glass, it seems to prefer going through the gravel, I’m sure it benefits from the high protein fry food, I blend in, with the ground bug bites… I’ve put them on my watch list, for the next time they come around
