There are a lot of "myths" about kuhli loaches. I hypothesize that this is because most folks haven't designed their tank around kuhli loaches and their needs, which makes them uncomfortable and causes them to hide. This doesn't mean that kuhli loaches are a species that just hides all day and only comes out at night.
They are not necessarily nocturnal. They are used to living among a bed of leaf litter that shields them from a lot of light. Some kuhli keepers replicate this with oak or almond leaves, but shaded areas made by live plants do pretty well.
They aren't schooling fish. They are simply social. You will very rarely see all of your kuhli loaches in one place at the same time.
If you've only had them for two weeks, they are still settling in and may not eat with regularity yet. Establish a routine and feed them at the same time, same place every day. I use either tongs or a turkey baster, depending on what they are getting that day, and place it in a specific corner of the tank every evening.
