are these suitable for a community aquarium, i have read somewhere that they will eat livebearer fry but that doesnt bother me, what im wondering is would the be ok with livebearers( eg mollys, swordtails, platys and guppys, they will be in a deep tank with a good few caves in, seen them in my lfs and have fell in love and am just building a community up again satrting today when i move my oscars to their bigger tank,
if they are not ok with the livebearers what would they be ok with ? becaus ei may just have to change my stock list to acomodate these beauties

What is your set-up? Tank dimensions, water parameters, planted?, stocking (species and number of each).

Provisionally, they are suitable as long as you don't get particularly nasty individuals. I would probably remove all Guppies first though as Kribs can be a bit nippish.

Mine seem ok in my community.
Though you can have only 1 pair. Any more and there will be trouble.

I have a pair in a 4ft community. They have made a space for themselves by some bogwood, and don't seem to bother with the guppy's. They are the least agro fish I have. The Ellioti on the other hand

I dare say they would be ok with livebearers. They are quite fascinating to watch spawning. I used to have kribs in my community tank and they didn't bother any other fish even with fry.

From personal experiance, a fine community Cichlid which is very attractive. But can be surprisingly aggressive, people underestimate them. I have one in a 55G community with no problems whatsoever.

Can't comment on the livebearer bit, don't keep them

Would be a nice addition to your collection.

how big are the now
i have had them spawn
at about two and a half inch
to three inch

they are only about 1 1/2 - 2 inch max

give them a few months youll
know when they are ready the female
will colour up and start displaying to
the male good luck once the start
spawing they'll be no stopping them
