I wanted to add kribensis to my ram tank, but was wondering if it would be ok. The two pairs of rams are slightly aggressive toward one another, but ignore all the little tetras danios, and rarely chase away the corys. It's a 60 gallon that's half planted and half rock stacked.

Well my uncle just went off on me about how the kribs would kill the tetras, so I'm assuming he put all cichlids in the same boat because I've heard they have the same temperament of rams.

Sorry I didnt see this post sooner. Kribs are definetly more aggro than Rams. When breeding they would beat on everything badly. However when not breeding it can differ. Ive seen single Kribs kept with a community and behave fine but then others were super aggro. Id say give it a go and see how things go. :good:

I had 2 rams in a 55 gallon. Added 2 kribs, they bred and killed the rams very quickly. Be careful.

Well I went with a couple(not a pair, but two boys) of albino kribensis. The "alpha" ram quickly asserted his dominance and kept his side of the tank. His brother helped keep them at one side, and one of the girls chases them away, but the smallest female seems a little hesitant. I didn't add two females, because I've heard of cichlids in all female groups change sexes. Once the kribs settle down I'll watch for trouble. They seemed to stay on the rocky side, while the rams prefer the side with driftwood. I think I may have to move the weak female into the 20 gallon with my mollies, but I'll give it a couple more days. Thanks for all the info.

I'd be wary of putting Kribs in with rams, Kribs are allot more aggresive then rams, especially when they are breeding!
