Ok, since my 75g has cycled with mature media in the canister I've planted it and started to add my stock. My planned stock is as follows:
2 x Kribensis (added)
2 x Apistogramma Rotpunkt (added)
2 x Apistogramma Assizi (Added)
12 x Zebra Danios for dither fish (added)
Malaysian Trumpet Snails (got ~30 free from LFS -added)
Golf ball blue mystery snail who outgrew my two other tanks (added)
2 dwarf plecos (looking for what I want)
I'll get pics up soon, I have a lot of plants and a lot of caves/hiding spots for the cichlids to avoid each other, but am keeping an eye on the kribs to make sure they don't overly harass the Apistos. If they do, I'll move them to the 30g.
Lessons learned so far:
A dominant male krib can swallow a ghost shrimp whole in one gulp
A dominant female krib WILL back down from a golf ball sized mystery snail who doesn't care about her posturing.
MTS are sometimes used as toys by cichlids (pick them up and swim around with them...no harm done to MTS)
Danios LOVE a 45.5" run to swim in...they think the tank is perfect!
