i have had my kribensis for about a month now and they hardly ever come out of the cave. the female does once in a while bot not very often. and then just last night the male came out and started borrowing in the sand under my driftwood. i looked on google for hours and couldn't find anything about it. does that mean they are about ready to mate? it was fun to watch anyway! thanks!

Oh you mean burrowing. I thought you meant you had borrowed kribs from a friend or something.

Anyway, to my knowledge, yes, this is what this means.
Do they all live in your thirty gallon? It's pretty stocked. I would be sure to remove any eggs I they lay any.

the female is swimming around outside the cave right now and the male is in side but i won't be able to get any eggs out because the cave is my hallow plastic driftwood with a small hole in it and they're very far in there.

the kribs are very far in there. i wasn't talking about the eggs. i don't even know if there are any eggs in there. :p

but what confuses me is that the male isn't that colorful.

i guess she is out a lot. just not while i'm in the room. i just went in the room and sat down and held as still as possible and after a minute she came out and i sat there for about a half hour and she was out the entire time. and sometimes she went in and out of the cave and she seems very aggressive. she chaises away any fish that comes near the cave and idk y but she went and attacked my albino BN pleco. he wasn't even near the cave.
