Kporteo's Fish Shortlist

Here is a quote from a book I have been reading.

Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish

"This species is almost a perfect aquarium fish: it is peacful. colourful & stays small. keep in group with ample smimming space a varied diet."

I think they will get on swimmingly, sorry could help that. :)

Maybe, it would be best if you asked the manager if they got any in and if not, if they could order some for you :good:

You're fine with stocking your various shoaling groups first, finally followed by your 3 gouramis if you still go that way I think. As you continue to stock you can also consider how well you like each type and possibly decide to drop a paricular species in favor of increasing the numbers of one or two others, but its totally up to you. Its hard not to want to gain direct experience with a wider variety of species when you're just beginning, it makes sense to begin gaining that experience. There are so many parameters to a given species, their different swimming patterns throughout the day, their interactions with other species and within their own group, their explorations of the tank, their colors and how those colors seem both with the tank and with other fish, their feeding habits and whether they seem hardy in your environment.. just all sorts of things for each species.
