Koi Carp And Refilling Tank

I am happy to mix some boiled water in with the cold, some people will even take it straight out of the hot tap.. in other words, mix hot and cold! :)

but Ive been reading a fluctuation over 0.5c can upset the fish, being the perfectionist that I am, Im not too happy to just start throwing in water without knowing the exact temperature.

am I being too picky here?

Thanks for your help Kitty Kat

No, you should do only what you are comfortable with.

From my experience, 2-3C is ok, and there are species which require even more of a sharp drop to trigger spawning. Why don't you mix up the water in a bucket beforehand to the right temperature?
