Kissing Gourami Dead?

When i got in from work there about an hour ago my kissing gourami was dead and stuck to the filter,it looked as if it had white stuff on part of one its eyes and it seemed as if its scales were missing,it was fine this morning when i was going out,it wasnt swollen or anything,any idea's of what this might be,i dont think it was stressed etc

Tank mates are,gourami,platys,guppies,silver dollar,bala,danio's corys,pictus

Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

Nitrate is reading zero even at my tap and in the tank its zero because of a Purigen pouch

Could his tank mates of killed him? Was he old?

If your nitrate is 0, is your tank cycled?  You should have a reading of something there.
 
A white film over the eyes or coming off often happens with decomposition... a healthy fish wouldn't have gotten stuck to the filter.

he was about 6-8 weeks.my bala is very placid doesnt bother with the fish ive even watched him with the light out for hours and he doesnt chase any fish etc,the only one that would be aggressive is the pearl gourami,ive watched him chase and attack other fish even the bala etc so it possibly could off been it

stuck to the filter at the top were the wee openings are etc there has been a few of my fish been stuck to that ( been sucked on to it ) yes tank is cycled etc

How long have you had the kissing gourami? What size tank is this, by the way?

The same thing happened to my brothers tank, the filter was a bit too powerful so it kept on sucking the fish towards it... Having said that he did have small baby neons, so he cut out a piece of thin filter sponge and attached it to the out side, it have the fish a chance to get away, he removed it when they were bigger and stronger., but the filter was still effective.

I think he was picked on and killed, things can change quite quickly in a tank, a once peaceful aquarium home can quickly become a murder scene over night!
I would just keep an eye on it and watch out for nipped fins etc, there's no telling really unless you set up a camcorder to watch them 247.

The tank is a lido 200,i know what ya mean by the filter been powerful etc i went to clean it out a few weeks ago and found a load of my neons in there dead,they were sucked through the gaps on the side of the filter,the kissing gourami,wasnt that old,but i still think it is the pearl gourami thats causing the deaths,could be wrong but i think hes the problem
