I have recently had a thread on the 'tropical discussions' page, asking for advice about restocking my tank.

The tank is 36"x15"x15" 120 Litres.

Ive currently got 8 x Odessa Barbs, 1 x Albino Shark, 1 x RTB Shark and 1 x Common Pleco.

Im thinking about possibly cutting the odessas down to 6 (gotta keep these) and Getting Rid of the Albino shark and pleco.

This will leave me with 6 x Odessas, 1 x RTB Shark.

I was considering 1 keyhole, but think they would do better as a pair, and ive always wanted to breed cichlids. So i would like to get 6/7 baby keyholes and let them pair off (then take the remaining keyholes back)
Also i would like 3 or 4 YoYo Loach.

How compatable would this stock list be?

6 x Odessa Barb
1 x RTB Shark
2 x Keyhole Cichlid
4 x YoYo Loach

Cheers

Gaz

Looks good to me - Keyholes can take a long time to pair off though but to be honest even if you get 2 males or 2 females in a 35inch tank I think you would not have any problems they are pretty peaceful :) Though the RTBS might fight with the yoyos they sometimes dont like things their shape but you might be ok from what I have heard they are a bit unpredictable

Okay thanks for the reply.

I dont want the YoYos to get bullied as ive read that they will just hide away and never come out if they are stressed or scared.

I think i will give it a go though, as i love the YoYos, My RTB is no trouble at the moment with the Albino Shark.

Thanks alot

yoyos should be fine, as long as they dont get too big like clown loaches do, might be worth checking,

you might want a BN or somethin to replace the pleco for cleaning up
other than that sounds good

I think the yoyos only get to about 4" Max.

Yeh i was researching small plecos last night, i really like the king tiger and a few others, but dont know how good they are at cleaning up and eating algae?

I might go for a bn, never had one before. Only ever had commons.

Thanks alot

Gaz

King Tiger Plecs are more carnivorous and will not eat algae. Any plec will only eat some algae and should not be a substitute for good cleaning by yourself.

BN are however lovely smaller plecs, perfect for community tanks and one of the more daytime-active plecs too.

Thanks again for the reply,

I always used to clean my tank with one of the magnetic scourer pads, but since ive had my common pleco the whole tank has been absoloutly spotless and its much easier.

I will take a look at the BN Pleco.

Are the Queen Arabesques more canivorous too?

Thanks
