So I noticed one of my keyhole cichlids looking a little off-colour lately. Started I think Thursday night, hiding in a plant pot.

Friday morning it was still alive, so I let it be. Today, I take some photos and notice a load of eggs:

I was actually expecting a bronze cory to start laying. This was a complete surprise. There seems little information on the web about fry care too.

cor thats brilliant. i have an affection for keyholes. they where the first cichlids i ever kept way back in '84. have you got any other fish with them. if you really want to try and grow on some fry they will take newly hatched brine shrimp. I've got some most days. I'm in norwich so if you could pick them up you can have some. for them to hatch and become free swimming would take nearly 2 weeks so no rush

Yeah I was thinking about where to store a bottle of brine shrimp but I don't really have anywhere. If you have a local supply you are welcome to pm me your contact details.

PS I know with cory eggs to look for a blank dot as confirmation of fertilisation. Is it similar for Cichlid eggs? These ones are way smaller, I can't really see much to them.
