How important is it to keep these in groups?

I got 4 a while ago, intending to get another 3-4 a couple of weeks later after the filter had caught up, but they got ill and died, and then I didnt want to buy more until I was sure my tank was free of illness.

Well it is now, but I am moving house in a month and a half, and will be travelling 250 miles with these guys. Obviously the less fish I have the easier this will be. There are 2 WCMs left at the moment, they seem fine and quite independant of each other. Do I need to get more, or can this wait till after the move? There is only one place I can get my fish locally, and most of the stock are weak, they are always getting ill and the first to succomb to illness, so I'd prefer to wait till I move and can hopefully find somewhere better, but dont want to be cruel to my current fish.

Yes they would do better with more of their own. Waiting til after you move, to add more, will be fine also.
