I found these two beautiful snails in my brother's 29 gallon and I wanted to keep them in a 1 gallon tank. Does it need a filter or air pump or anything? Or can I just fill it with water and add like an algae wafer every day or two days and just keep up with water changes and gravel vacs?

Does anyone breed snails? Have any tips?

Oh yea, I also wanted to ask about some driftwood I am going to get in a week or so from ebay. I know it is best to soak it to get all the tanins out or whatever, but for how long and in what water? Cold water, warm water, hot water etc? It is about 2 feet long and 17 inches tall so it would have to be soaked in the bathtub.

You can keep the snails in the 1 gallon. Just keep up with water changes and they should be fine. Pretty much add water and snails

You should soak the driftwood in hot water, for well, as long as the water remains hot. Then repeat until all tannins seem to be gone.

Okie dokie thanks a lot! I just blanched a little lettuce for the little guys. I have four great ramshorn snails! I was planning to mayb breed them for my clown loaches but they're so cute. I think I will keep them. I have a 1 gallon tank now and soon I will have a 2 gallon bowl they can live in.

haha, you were planning to breed them but you think you'll keep them?? before you know it, they will be breeding like crazy without any help from you (besides giving them enough food) and you will have plenty of snacks for your loaches
