I have a tank at work i set up has 3 snails and 1 betta
lots of plants and a cool little cave and arch i made for the tank
filtered and has a heater
only has 1/2 a lid i had to take off part of it to put the filter in, the tank used to have a built in filter in the hood.
ive experimented with different foods and they tend to devour the algae wafers and peas so they have a varied diet not to mention my plants that they hardly nibble on if ever {they used too all the time till i found food they liked}

and i often come in to work to find a snail on the top of the desk
or like just now i was doing some paperwork and hear something tumble down the blinds - it was my biggest guy who tends to be the escapee most often.
its a ritual now every morning to scour the tank for my pretty little guys

why do they constantly crawl out of the tank?!?!

ive lost one snail to it over thanksgiving break

Can you get something like a condensation cover or some plexiglass to cover the 1/2 of the tank that has no lid, this would stop their wanderings, they do it, because they can, then because they are snails, well, they cant find their way back again :lol:

what kind of snails are they?
snails are goof balls, but it sounds like you may have to come up with another lid to keep them in and the betta be allowed to breath.
it sounds like you have mysteries right? i have come across a smiler problem you need to figure out where they are getting out of and maybe put duck tape it or use a peice of screen and cut it to fit the open spot. this will allow air in and snails in as well.
