Hey, i got a Juwel Rio 125 yesterday. I dont want to look through the instructions, so could anyone give me advice on setting the filter up.. i have no experience with the juwel filters.

thanks

my advice - if youve got time to post here, you must have time to read the instructions to the filter!! dont be lazy ;)

normally they have a diagram in them, much easier than reading, just follow the pics!

the 2 big bluesponges go in the smaller filter holder at the bottom, then it goes green, black, white. The heater goes in one of the 2 holes at the back and once everything else is in you put the pump holder in the hole in the middle of the unit. My advice with the white filter pad is to not buy jewel ones but to go onto ebay and search filter wool. You wil lthen get results for large sheets suitable for koi ponds. Buy some of this and it will save you loads of money!

I got 3 metres x 70cm of the stuff and it cost me £10 inc postage. It is enough to make approx 210 filter sponges, enough to last me a couple of years. For the same money i would be able to get about 15 juwel sponges...
