In think I will go for the Interpet. What watts will I have to go for? I have a Juel 96LIf it is only the bulb that has gone then it can be replaced with any equivalent length/size of tube. Interpet Daylight Plus get good comments and mine was a much better tube than the original Juwel tube I had. I have since gone for a T6 Realux Daylight along with the £1 rubber washers that let the T6 fit my Juwel T8 mountings, I personally like this tube and would get these again over T8s.

That's not the case for my Juwel tank one will work on its own if the other is broken. However there is only one switch, if you only want to turn one light on at a time, they make you pay for a special switch which allows you to do thisBe aware that if one tube is broken niether tube will start. They both have to be working for the unit to start.
I bought it online! I'm sure it will cost a fortune to post it! and theres no point contacting juwel as I know how bad their customer service is!Ill buy a pair of them I think. Will my fish be okay without lighting for a while?Be aware that if one tube is broken niether tube will start. They both have to be working for the unit to start.
I'd be suprised if you are using UV bulbs. the ones that come with the unit straight from Juwel are bog standard full(ish) spectrum bulbs. they are not that good to be honest. Go for a 'proper' bulb form Interpet or another aquarium supply manufacturer. A full spectrum bulb rated at 7,000K (5,000K to 8,000K should be fine) should suit your needs.
Look at the bulbs you have already. the wattage will be marked on the tube near one end. you'll find that the length of tube will dictate the wattage.
If you replace both tubes and the unit still doesn't work then the unit itself has blown. It's not uncommon for them to fail; mine did after 8 months. Take it to the lfs you got it from and get them to replace it for another. there shouldn't be a problem.

it says 590 mm on mine, thats 23"The Juwel 96 will require bulbs at 24". These are usually 18W![]()
col. I have just orderd interpet daylight plus 24". That should do the trick. I have the tank with no light! cannot see my fish very well also Ive just had new babies and don't know if they are still alive and feeding well.Yes, the bulbs on Juwel tanks are an awkward size, but 24" ones do fit in.
