Juwel Rekord 70

According to my Juwel leaflet, the Rekord 70 has a Compact filter (not a Compact Super) that's obviously the one that's awkward

Just found a piccy of my Rekord 70 - it was taken a few months ago - before I added a third pearl gourami (Malc and Min kept fighting :grr: ) and the four platys

Sorry - reduced size of pic - was huge

cool pic majjie. looking good!

my mum has got a juwel rekord 60 and it has a divider down the middle yeh, so your saying the rekord 70 doesnt?? thats stupid? is it really that much of a pain?? :/ thats put me off now

Yes it has a divider down the middle but the motor sits on the divider between the two chambers and you have to take it out to pull up the baskets with the foam in. You can't take it out without taking off the outlet tube (which I now have pointing up to the surface - thanks to advice on TFF)

I've taken pics ( but OMG I should have waited until tomorrow, after the weekly rinse  filter pad gets much dirtier since adding the platys - guess it shows the filter works  )
It has a lid, which just sits on the top (pic 1 where you can see two of the greedy platys begging :grr: )

I guess you get used to it if you have one but my other tanks are much easier
It may be because of the extra height that it works this way - all the 46cm tall tanks in the leaflet have the Compact filter like this.

yes but y do u have to take pump out when its at the side away from the sponges?? sorry for being awkwad? i know that the pump pumps water out the nozzle at the side now tho!

It isn't at the side away from the sponges (although it does look a bit like it is in the pic  ).

I lied when I said the divider was in the middle :p - it's much nearer the back and has a tube in it which the motor fits into (so it has to go in exactly that position). The rest of the motor overhangs the filter basket (those white plastic half circles in the pic are the central handles to pull the basket out) - so you can't get the sponge filters out with the motor in position.

You can, at a pinch, change the little pre-filter on the top without taking the basket out. You have to squidge the edges of the filter back under the plastic handles and under the motor.

thanks i will get it soon, well xmas and i undrstand now!
