Instead of buying new Poly Pads could I just wash them out?

JUWEL Filtermedia! Made to fit each Filter System! Use the filter baskets for your filter system to make maintenance even easier! The poly pads clean the water of large dirt particles ensuring that these do not get into the filter sponges clogging them and preventing the bio - cultures to work. Change the Poly pad in your filter system once a week! Please observe the maintenance guidelines in your instruction manual for further details.

We have three juwell tanks.

I leave my polypads in place for three months, and simply rinse them whenever the water flow gets reduced - about once every three weeks.
Remember to use water taken from the tank to rinse the pads, not tapwater.

Replace them every week? If I did that, I wouldn't be able to afford fish!

I've started rinsing them thoroughly under the tap using the force to blast all the crap out, then I soak it thoroughly in the new dechlorinated water waiting to go into the tanks, that way the chlorine gets cleaned out and I'm not bothered about any good bacteria as they'd get binned anyway if you were replacing them every week.

Just rinsing in a bucket of tank water just doesn't get the crap out of mine.

I don't replace mine every week either, that's just a cruel trick by juwel to get you to spend more money I reckon ;)

I do rinse them under the tap I'm afraid, for the same reason as Arfie, rinsing them in still water just doesn't get the job done.
