The Rekord 800 only has a 400lph pump, whereas similar old Rekord models came with a Bioflow 600. Just wondering if these new Bioflow 400s are actually better due to some sort of redesign, or if they are a downgrade of the 600.

I got a Fluval 3+ as a replacement, which is 700lph but I keep reading that the Fluval is very powerful and I'm worried that it's going to be overkill for my 29gal tank. I don't want all my tetras to get blown all over the place! If the Bioflow 400 is good, I would consider returning the Fluval, as I am also finding it extremely difficult to remove the Juwel internal filter housing. I snapped a blade and almost cut myself, and I don't think the silicone even has a slight dent in it.

Would appreciate any opinions or comments from people having experience with these filters.

IMO keept the Juwel.

dont worry about the Fluval, it will not "blow" your fish away. my tank, 190l, has two externals. added up they flow 1650lph. though true flow is somewhat less (around 900lph). and the Fluval has a flow control. in my opinion, you are better off with, almost, anything, except a Juwel item.

removing the juwel units takes patients and time.
