little beauties!!

try sticking a light over the tank and using no flash on your camera (and have a steady hand or something to balance the camera on) then they should come out clearer.

Yeah, I need to get a real nice lighting system here. My hands is not steady and I need a tripod I guess.
Thanks for the info.

Here's how my conditioning tanks looks like....

This matter has been discussed before. Where _cRaCkEr_ lives, it is a normal thing. He knows how to properly take care of bettas and heal them.

That argument is complete crap, there are many places around the world what what is "normal" is abhorent to people that live in other countries.

Personally I think that breeding ANYTHING to be fought is disgusting and should not be promoted on these forums.

Yeah, like eating beef or pork and chewing gum in public!

Completely different as two of those are on the basis of religion and the other is to avoid littering the streets. I was thinking more along the lines of hunting endangered species, cock fighting, or bear bile farming in China.

Fair enough if you don't agree that it's cruel to fight them, but if you are going to make a point, please try and make an intelligent one.

I think it was a very valid point. Like you said, sometimes what is the norm in one place or to one group of people is abhorrent to others. Just because you don't necessarily think eating beef is abhorrent doesn't mean the majority of India isn't appauled by it. It's basically like killing and eating your own family, comparable to cannibalism. If there's a difference between that and betta fighting aside from your own disapproval, I'd like to hear it.

I'd have thought the difference is fairly obvious and is as I mentioned above. One is on religious grounds that the Cow is sacred, where as other parts of the world view cows as a source of food. I'm not vegetarian and I eat cows, pigs, fish etc etc. There is however, in my mind, a real difference between raising an animal for food and raising it purely to be fought for the enjoyment of people.

I would feel the same if people from Spain we posting pics of bulls they were raising to fight, to eat the animal isn't great for the animal, but to basically torture it to death is disgusting.

It is a matter of opinion, and in part a matter of cultural differences. Religion is also cultural.

I'm sorry, but how's it being promoted on this forum?

How do you condition the bettas in pop bottles? Wouldn't it be better to have them in filtered tanks? Fighting bettas is interesting to some. Personally I don't agree with it, but everyone's got different opinions on things, and arguing isn't going to change anyone's opinion.

Well first off, you really can't condition a betta with moving water. He really won't be able to make a bubblenest. That's what I heard.

What does making a bubblenest have to do with conditioning? I always just made sure their water was super clean, and they were being fed high quality foods(when I conditioned bettas). When I bred bettas, the breeding tanks had filters in them. I put 1/2 a styrafoam cup on the surface for the bubblenest to be built in.
