Hi i have a fairly new cycled tank that is starting to get brown algae. Can I put a Oto in with a Juvenile GT, or will the GT eat him?

you cant add ottos to newly cycled tanks as theyll just die they need mature plant set up tanks idelalyy for them to graze the algae to eat, as they can be hard to feed

yeah but the tank is starting to get brown algae, it's been cycled for 3 months now. maybe i shouldn't have said "newly" but it is fairly new.

it's not a planted tank but it does have brown algae. from what I read otos can help get rid of brown algae. but i have a green terror in the tank. i'm just concerned with the GT eating the oto

and if the answer is still no, how else do i get rid of brown algae?

you can't put an oto with a juvenile gt. also, they say that otos prefer to be in groups. i'd get a larger plec like bristlenose instead. how large is the tank?
