Seems my biggest neon tetra who has been with me since the beginning has Neon Tetra Disease. Got quite obvious, whitish lumps near his tail. He's such a stunner - beautiful colours - and I don't know what to do. If I take him out I don't have anywhere to put him, I won't euthanize yet as he can still swim fine and is eating well and if it is NTD I can't save the tank as he'll have already infected everyone else. I think I just have to wait it out and see. It's awful that it has taken me so long to notice. I've been nursing Howl (my white HMPK betta) and the other fish have been sort of ignored this week.
AND the lone female kribensis in that tank is shredding everyone. She's stressed my favourite cory (Trent Reznor, don't ask) to the extent that he's now really, really ill - torn fins, ripped barbells, blood on his tummy . . . He can't swim properly and is just lying on his side in a breeding trap. I got him right at the beginning and really don't want to lose him. I'm getting rid of her (any takers?).
And Howl is still sick. Doesn't seem to be improving at all. I will be shocked if he recovers, tbh. I think I'm torturing him by keeping him alive but I can't face euthanizing him as he might recover and I adore him.
What else? I just generally feel a bit sick of it all atm. My bettas never do well despite being in fully cycled tanks with an excellent diet and perfect water stats. The neons are always dissapearing on me and I'm tired of replacing the fallen every few weeks. ARG!
