It will be a long time yet, but once my bristlenoses are big enough and I sell them, I hopefully will be able to have the following stock in my 29usg tank,

1 x Pair of German Blue Rams (Mikrogeophagus Ramerezi)
1 x shoal of around 10 Cardinal tetra
Catfish/other bottom feeder.

My question is would this be ok in my tank? The tank will be planted with things like Amazon sword, and it will have a load of wood in there. With regard to the bottom feeders, i'm not really sure what to do; the things i'm considering are

Keeping the pair of BNs I have, although i'm beggining to dislike the idea, as it would mean be vigilant in removing the eggs.
Getting a shoal of cories, any sort really, i'd decide at the time.
Upside down catfish?
Any other bottom feeders that would be suitable you guys can think of.

Anyway, could you guys please help me decide what to do, what do you think would go best in my tank?
General Advice much appreciated. Sorry if that was a bit of a ramble I just type stuff in as it comes to mind.
As I said though, its a month or so away yet, so no rush.

PS. The only fish I would really really like are the rams, the cardinals numbers could be dropped, and if its too much also I could scrap the bottom feeder thing altogether.

it sound fine to me, as long as your pH is around 7 and your water is nice and soft, so many people mess rams up by keeping them in hard alkali water, theyre so much better in soft watef trust me, a way of softening is RO water, use that with a pH buffer and mix with the other water you use.
the stocking sound fine, and if you are going to use soft water, i reccommend panda cories, though they are weak if you use RO they are brilliant little guys, also corydora trilienatus are beautiful.

Fortunately the water here is soft with a pH of around 6, which as far as I'm aware is great for rams. Thanks for the reply, I think I might go with about 6 cories of some sort now.
