Just me again.

I have never used them, but they are safe.

Yes, it’s ok if you leave them floating for a new days. As long as they are wet and warm.

Awesome mate, Thanks!

So are all the choices of rock safe and wont effect my water? I've ordered two different size drift wood I guess I will soak in boiling water for 7 days to remove the tanning is this correct?

I do not suggest boiling driftwood, as it breaks down the wood fiber.

I didn’t look at the whole list, I just skimmed. But all the names are very common and are safe. (Most good, informative sellers like that will have a little something under the description of the rock, saying if it will affect pH, and stuff like that)

You can give me the name(s) of the rocks you want to get, and I’ll do some research on them, to see if they are safe. :)

I don't mind doing research my self buddy. I have not decided on what I want to use as of yet. I am going for black sand bottom, rocks and driftwood. Combined with Amazon swords, Java moss and another plant of some sort unsure yet.

How would you advice about removing the tanning on the drift wood?

Tannis will come out naturally, as the driftwood soaks in water.

I find that wood needs to be soaked in water to make it sink. I know other people put a chunk of rock on top of the wood, or screw it on to a rock, but I'd rather not chance the rock falling off.
I have had a tiny piece of wood in a bucket of water for the last 3 weeks and it's still not sunk :(

I thought it sunk straight away. Maybe that's why its called "drift" FACEPALM! I've just bought two chunks of it from swell ready for next week to add some moss and place ontop of the sand. That's that idea out the window!

You can remove tannins by doing water changes. Over time, you won't see tannins if you do enough water changes. You can also add carbon into your filter, which helps remove tannins in the water.

I would only be doing a 15%-30% water changes, once a week. How long would the tanning take to remove?

It can take weeks to months - it all depends on the piece.

If you soak it for a month before hand, you will have a lot less tannis in your tank water. (It will also help get it water logged, as @essjay said)

With fish in the tank you need to do at least 50% every week.

Some types of wood take longer to sink than others. My piece is very frustrating as I once had in my tank but it's been in the cupboard for ages, but I don't remember it taking this long to sink first time.

I guess I will just let it sit in buckets of water, I guess that will also reduce the tanning of the aquarium once it does go in? I'm after some sort a decent sized tree looking think what type would you advice?
