I bought a crowntail 2 days ago and on the first day it was looking fine.
Heres a picture I took:

But I woke up this morning and found my betta like this:

What could be the problem?

maybe just do a water change
put a mirror infront of his tank and he could be fine

Like what?!

Temp: 80F
Filtered - Slow current.
Plenty of hiding places.
Has been in water for 2 days.

No idea. Ran out of test things. I guess I should really to a water change. And don't know why there would be nitrite the filter was only in there to clear the water from the white colouring form the stones.

did you wash the stones first? could be something leaking from them making him like that, has he eaten since you got him?

I washed the sones 3 times with cold water and twice hit hot water. Making sure to wash all the white out. But put the filter just incase.

He has ate. I had to give him peas as he doesn't eat from the suface so fish flakes don't work and he doesn't eat from the substrate either. So i gotta get it just right whilst it's floating down for him to eat. Or he doesn't.

see if a partial water change will make him any better, you'll have trouble feeding most bettas flaked food try get some pellets and maybe blood worm as an occasional treat

mate, do a water change, do a 40% water change, it wont hurt, use safe guard, the fish clearly doesnt like the water, i used to have siamese fighting fish before i knew anything about the water and they used to be dead after a week, i now do a 20%water change a week and i havent lost a fish in months, maybe a year. do a water change and see. dont feed flake either lol, its gay, use frozen bloodworm or daphnia or sumthin. if you want to use a dry food use tetra prima pellets

The water change is a good idea it usually perks them up a lil bit, he could also still be a lil bit stressed. I hope he gets better soon and keep us posted on his progress.

Also just a quick note, betta pellets are better than flakes and frozen foods like bloodworm should only be given as a treat perhaps once a week.

As i said before i hope he gets better soon

 he dont look happy does he? I would put him in a smaller container with clean water same temp and conditioner in. I dont get on well with gravel or those ferny plants...dont know why. I hope he is a bit better. :good:
