Hello! So I just got some Cory catfish in the mail (12 out of 15 survived the ride but the thing is I only ordered 10 ANYWAY) and there were some feeder guppy fry in the bags. I have guppy tanks, so my heart was immediately crushed despite the fact I understood exactly why they were there. And Ive been taking care of them like o do my personally bred fry in the QT. Butttttt just how messed up are their genetics? I can’t see feeder guppy breeding being regulated at all so I can see them being inbred out the wazoo. So I don’t know how long they’ll actually live.

Just say it in this thread cause I want to know as well LOL

Feeder guppies are usually uncoloured or poorly coloured fish. They might have been mixed up or just unwanted. From a genetic stand point, they are no different to other guppies and might even be hardier due to possibly having unrelated parents.

Interesting!

Dang... expensive tho

A dwarf gourami for $40 not including shipping is way too much

Tell me about it. I want trying to hunt down green corydora’s for months and this was the most reasonable one I could find that wasn’t either sold out or sketchy
Dang... expensive tho

My LFS sells albino Cories For $15 per fish. It’s… the fish are taken care of really well. But. WOOF.

I see that...no wonder they throw in a few extras, lol
They better lol... Order 3 danios for $50 and I better be getting the most colorful ones with about 6 extras
