Just Got A New Tank!

Just got a new 29 gallon tank, my lfs I bought it from said I dont have to cycle it as He said the glass is made so it doesnt need to be cycled and the glass contains the beneficial bacteria in it.
He reccommended I got 4 Tiger oscars, 4 Blood parrots, 9 Clown loaches, 7 Silver shakrs, 3 Birchirs, and a baby gar.
It come up to 250 for all the fish but its worth it, I went home, added dechlorinated water, Put gravel and add the fishes,

Any advice on how to make them happy they seem sad?

Bacteria in charge for the removal of ammonia survive in water. Without water, they die off. So that advice is rubbish tbh. Also, you have too much fish Oscars can grow the size of your head, and you have 4, nevermind the other fish.

This is what will happen in your tank: Your excessive fish will release a lot of faecal materials which released ammonia, poison for fish. Since you have a lot of them, the rate of ammonia production would be high that it can start killing your fish. Depending on the type of cycle you'd do, it can last from a week to 3-4 months.

My advice is to return some of your fish and keep one or two medium-sized one. Although, if you're in a rush, read fishless cycle from this forum. There's a guide for newbies. If you can't return your fish, you might have to do 90% water change daily of de-chlorinated water (de-chlorinate water before adding it into the aquarium). Since you have quite a substantial amount of fish, it might be hard to remove a lot of water at once, so you might have to do 50% twice in a day for 2-3 months, or even 4! And that's going to be time consuming. So it's best to return before they start dying

I added my corys and tetras but my oscar muder it, what should i do? the tetras and swimmin in chalf?

Return every fish you have, they are totally unsuitable for that tank and if the lfs knows what size tank you have then I would take no advice from them ever again, clown loaches are very sensative to poor water at young age and can grow to 30cm long but more than likely 20cm, silver sharks grow big to at 30cm and are very skitish, I had 3 in a tank 3 times bigger than yours and I still had to remove them. And as said before oscars grow to the size of your head so you def dont want 4. I am suprised they have lasted this long with that type of stocking in an uncycled tank. The redness will be ammonia poisoning, have you tested your water? And as for the glass having benificial bacteria that is complete rubbish, next he'll be selling you food which has it in. As i said above return all fish and fishless cycle your tank then research on what you can and can't have in your tank, if your still not sure then post something on here, there will be more than enough people to help you with choosing some which you may never of heard of before and love.

I red they wil ghet stunted which is a good thing? i heard that they release howrmones into the water tostop them gwoing, if i do 100 percent water change everyday will it get rid of the hormone?

How can you do a 100% water change everyday? What releases hormones? Why can you type perfectly sometimes but not others? What is an "lgf" (maybe LFS)?

The whole thing of a fish will grow to the size of the tank is a myth in 1 sence, yes a fish will only grow to the size of a tank, but thats because you are stunting its growth, it will then become stressed ill and die, thats why you hear all the time "yeah my goldfish only live for about 2-3 years then die" they can comfortable live past 15 years no problem but because there in a tank far to small there stressed and die in simply terms, so no stunting a fish is not a good thing. I personally would stay well clear of a lfs with that sort of advice. Buy yourself a bottle of ammonia, this will help you to build the benificial bacteria in your filter, it will take a while to get reads of ammonia and nitrite to zero but will have a strong filter of bacteria for you patients, do not add it while fish are in the tank as it will kill them and make sure you have a test kit. Look up the fishless cycling on this forum to give you more in depth help with that and good luck!

I was just reading something today I think from fluttermoth about the fact that the bodies may be stunted but their organs keep growing, which is horribly painful.

You honestly need to do lots of research and cycle your tank with NO fish before you set off on this adventure.

I don't know what a WUM is but I can glean that you're right. I was beginning to wonder if it was he who cracked eggs in the tank and then smashed the tank with a hammer.
