Just Dont Know What To Do?

ok this might be a bit boring to read but im doing this for my fish!

Right now i got a 54 lite tank with two goldifsh and 4 white cloud mountains
i also have a 15 litre tank with a rainbow shark in recovery from led poisining

my birthday is comeing up and im getting about 100 euro i guess for my birthday off my parents + maby 50 euro extra i was woundering does anyone have any advice on what i should buy i want to buy a bigger thank for my fish but i dont know what size to get our what i should do right now i have a new 57litre filter in my 54 litre tank and i got a 54 litre filter in the 15 recovery tank i want advice on what i should buy with my money tank wise i want a nice tank cheap! lol and should i put it planted our just decorations?

i was thinking of buying nother heater and just putting the rainbow shark in the 54 litre tank on his own with maby a betta ? and then putting the other goldfish ect in a bigger tank. would this be good idea ? im open to suggestions thanks!

buy the biggest tank you can afford. get one second hand you'll get more for your money. buying a slightly bigger tank is a false economy. even if you cant afford one now, save your cash for a bit until you an get bigger. check local adverts, people always need to get rid of fishtanks. get the biggest you are allowed to have in the house and that you can afford.

Sorry to do this, but the goldfish should be in a pond, your tank is too small for them. Also sounds like the rainbow shark could be way too big also. If you are sticking to cold water, just stick with a nice group of what you have currently have.

also, the rainbow shark needs at least a 55g (210 litre) tank... if you can't get a tank this size, then i'd rehome him if i were you!

If you have the room and want a bigger tank, i'd save up abit and get exactly what you want as more then likely if you did just do a little upgrade you'll want to go the extra step eventually anyway

I agree with mislisa about the shark tho, Even tho they dont grow very big they do get pretty aggressive at times.
Kind of like a teenage mood swing if you ask me

To be honest i payed 130£ for my juwel rio 180 ltr.. it is an ok price as all items were with it.. But to be honest if you look around for a second hand tank you can get them cheap!. Personally i think the best thing is to do if you have a simple tank like just a filter and heater and air pump... Just buy the biggest tank you want.. Something big tho .... if filters not with it buy your own.. go on ebay look out for people who sell crap items tho... i payed 17£ for a 1600 lph filter.. pretty good price i think also has a 12 month warranty, You could just buy a heater or what ever needed of ebay or other sites if cheaper.. Sometimes you can get good deals tho if someone needs to get rid of their tank just keep a look out .. Go on classifieds ad websites like gumtree ect.. people sometimes sell tanks cheap.. Keep an eye out tho always check no leaks and other problems .. Not even close to a fish expert but hopefully this can help you a little lol Good luck.

always get the biggest tank you have room for, saves messing around upgrading a little step at a time ! and more water is easier to manage. doesn't tend to have such dramatic build ups of nitrate etc . and also some really good bargains can be had second hand so you'd get a lot more for your money, good luck
