Just Done My First Water Test

Had the fish in about 10 days now

Got 4 guppies and a plec

Test readings are as follows

Ph 8.0
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0

Tested my tap water aswell

Ph 7.4
Ammonia 0.25

Are these ok readings?

Looks good. Is this a fish-in cycle, or following a fishless cycle? Just out of curiosity

I wonder why your pH has increased...but 8.0 is fine as well!

Had no fish in for about a week then just bought a few, didn't want to go OTT on fih Incase the water wasn't right. Done 1 30% water change since the fish have been in.

Plants seem to be growing well. Gonna have a trip to the shop later for some more fish I think

lol, well kind of, I'm actually from Georgia in the southern USA but I call Carlisle home now!

Just be sure and take it slow, you don't want it to all come crumbling down on you!

OK, given that you did not cycle your tank before adding any fish, do not add any more until the filter has cycled. You are in a fish-in situation that so far is going fine. Keep an eye on that ammonia every day or two and do a massive water change whenever you start to detect an ammonia build up.
