Few of you have already helped me planning my Roma 200 project that im getting start of next month. so im now on the best bit STOCKING :hyper: the tank is going to be a roma 200 and im going to have a fluval 206 external filter.

Fish i already have...
1 platy
6 neons
5 cherry barbs
4 lemon tetra

LOVE lemon tetras so i plan on upping the number of them.(just been hard trying to find some near me) Cherry barbs i really like them but i have all females and the males look so much better so i dont know if a lfs would maybe exchange some for some male or might have to give a few to them and buy a few males. also really like my neons and will probs up the number of them...

I really like the look of harlequin rasbora how many? anyone info?. i would like a fish to stay near the bottom i had a bn plec a while ago and think i want to stay away from plecs i ended up taking him back to the shop. what else can i get that will do a simular roll to a plec? (but maybe not corrys? not 100% on them is there another alternative?) and ive just seen in another post about a centre peice fish which is what i want and they talked about bolivan rams? never seen them before looked on images and really like them! anyone reconmend them? in a comunity tank? any info would be great? also red tailed shark? i used to have one for years loved it only downside is i had it in a 95L and was too small for him and chased my fish quite a bit. would he be ok in a roma 200 wish my comunity?

think that might be everything lol. any help would be great :)

edit** my friend has 2 pictus catfish which i think are Awesome! my mate has them in a too small tank but they havent eaten any of his neons which ve read they might do? would love to have these in my tank is it possible?

Pictus will eat any small streamlined fish eventually.

I've been there (and it is not pretty and can sometimes bring about unexpected aggression and then stress-related illness), but think about what you are stocking, it is too easy to get pulled in many direction and end up with a "pick 'n' mix" affair. For a 200l, I would choose no more than one upper, middle and lower open water schooling species tops, with one or two singleton or bonded pair species.

Bolivian rams are beautiful. I have a male and female in my tank which both swim around the bottom. Never had a hint of trouble from either they don't bother any of my other fishes. Great additions to any tank imo

his is quite big now but hes only had them 3 months so im guessing there get bigger and then eat his smaller fish. guessing it will be the same story will all species of catfish.

yeah those rams do look really cool! isit easy to tell male and female? is breeding easy i dont want to become overrun? easy to offload to fish shop? gota do some research on these i think!

any information on a bottom level fish???

what about...
10 neons
6 cherry barbs
8 lemon tetras
8 harlaquin rasbora
2 bolivan rams

is that going to be fully stocked? over stocked? or should i beef up some numbers?

Hi cargo? I take it your tank is 200 litres? If so then there is no way it is overstocked. Bottom feeders have got to be sterbai cory. I have 7 in my 190 litre tank and they are beautiful. Very easy to tell a female and male ram apart and no they won't bother smaller fish. I have tiny neons swimming past them all the time and there is never any trouble. For some dramatic colour how about a group of platys? I have 6 female mickey mouse real vivid orange, lovely fish.

There are also a load of different species of tetras such as black widow, bleeding heart and x-ray. Lovely addition to any tank. Pearl gouramis are my favourite though, they are stunning fish and swim gracefully in a pair, mesmerising to watch.

wasnt sure about corrys had them in my last tank wanting something abit different this time? any other bottom feeders? i do like the sound of rams going to do some research when i have a day off. had platys and guppys for ages so there off the list. i fink im fairly happy with lemon tetras, neons, cherrys barbs, rams and i think im going to go with harlaquin rasboras. just need something to go on the bottom i been looking at yoyo loach anyone have any infromation? also need to need know what sort of numbers i should have of each fish.

I always go for 5 or 6 of each fish. This way they tend to stick together and seem happier. The rams are bottom of the tank fish so what not get 5 of those?
