Just an idle question.....

Having first started my fishy forum career on the original site, it seems to me that the people who migrated here are mainly American/Canadian while the old site (which I'm sure people are aware is still going) are mainly British. Am I correct and, if so, why has it worked out that way?

I don't know the history of the old site. I know that when I joined this one, I was struck by the number of British aquarists, and liked that - things were discussed differently. There are fewer Europeans here now, but overall, fewer active members as well.

There was a period when forums were falling like autumn leaves, but it seems to have stopped. Very few forums survived it. Aquarium stores have followed a similar pattern.
