i'm looking for fish to put in my tank when i get it at xmas.
whats the rule??
1inch of fish per us gallon?

This always confuses me :S :/

Excellent!!!!!!!!!

more fish!!!! :fish: :fish: :fish: :kana: :hey: :yahoo: :shout: :thanks: :hyper: :thumbs:

so thats .....
200L = 53 US gallons
53 US gallons = 53 inches of fish
53 inches = 134.6 cm

Of course you have to take into account the size of the fish. Ie: One large fish such as an oscar which gets to 15" average isnt that same as adding 15 x 1" neons for example - im sure you know this, but thought Id add just in case :)

yeah, i ahve a webpage that tells me the max size the fish can get to and i'm working on that,
so like neons get to 4cm long so if i want 5 i times 4cm by 5.

Its common sense too.

You can take cories for instance out of the equation because they just sit on the bottom and dont really take up any real estate.

Depends on the fish...

I always try to stock by bottom, middle, top dwellers..

also i always go by 1" per gallon rule for small fiish only...

I always think its best to add few fish at a time and keep checking stats as you add fish until you get to a decent amount you want and stats reading correct, if controlled and maintained properly you can stock well and it will run fine.

I wouldnt say that, my cories swim all over the place and its not the swimming space its the waste output too Axle :)
