heres my 15g which has been set up for a couple of months now, it holds 9 hengelis rasbora and 5 corydoras trilineatus. yesterday i added some vallis, and that java fern has been there since i first set up the tank pretty much. for the vallis the only thing im using is root tabs, hope this will be ok, i dont really have the money for co2, but i dont think i need to with only about 1.5wpg, maybe you planted enthusiasts could give me some pointers? Im pretty happy with how it is now, i aim to put some foreground plants in though. tell me what you think.
p.s. sorry theres just the one pic, batteries died :X

pps, do you like my coconut shell cave? :p i tried to grow java moss on it, but failed and gave up, same for the random bits of slate.

yeah looks nice, i'd have a load of red crypts coming out from behind the bit of bogwood down the gap between the wood and the slate. Just add a little somethign that's missing.

thanks hel and miss wiggle, as i say im hoping to get some more forground plants, but not sure what as my knowledge of plants isnt too good so im never quite sure what im looking at when i go into the lfs, i knew what java fern and vallis was though :p is crypt a foreground plant? i just dont want to get too planted because then it gets too technical by the sounds of it :S :S

yeah crpyts are a great foreground plant, just google it you'll see some pics. Hardy and easy to grow. Just make sure you get a good few of them as they look loads better when you've got quite a few of them.

yep, its 24x12x12=15us gallons (12uk) :) thanks for replying

thanks splish :* apart from the java fern the plants have only just gone in, so we'll have to wait and see if they survive or not

Very nice, person points, I'd move the heater abit and try to hide it slightly, maybe using the wood.

P.S incase I don't speak to you soon, (you may read this first) I have rainbow cichlids eggs again

A nice example of what can be done with a smaller tank. With everything in proportion and nice sensible stocking it gives the impression of being much bigger. Well done!

jayjay thanks mate, yeah ive been thinking about where to put the heater too, trouble is i have a 3D background so i cant stick it anywhere but the sides, maybe when the vallis thickens up a bit i can hide it behind them on the other side. congrats on the new set of eggs, ill speak to you soon to catch up on more info ;)

griz thanks griz thats a really nice thing to say, I like my tank too :p with less fish than perhaps most people would have i think it makes it look more like a natural river.
