My local Pets at home has a tank of small jewel and texas cichlids, I was thinking of liberating one of the jewels (as I have a smallish tank and the texas cichlids would get far too big) to put in my tank but i've read some conflicting information on their temperament so i'd like some first-hand information
i have a 180L planted tank with a 4" firemouth cichlid, a 5" rtbs, a BN plec, 6 serpae tetra and various danios and corys
i'm planning on moving the corys and danios into a smaller tank downstairs as they get fin nipped a fair bit by the tetra so i don't think they'd be an issue.
My LFS says the jewel cichlids are very hardy but also quite vicious little buggers, would i be ok with more than one etc. My FM is currently the boss of the tank but only bothers the RTBS whenver the strays too far out of his cave, hopefully he would keep the new arrival in check.
Any ideas?
