Alright, I'm a bit concerned. I've got 4 Jewels which appear to be very healthy. They're all showing good color, good finnage that aren't ever clamped, they swim about just fine and are healthy eaters. I do feed them night crawlers about once every other day. The 4 fish are between 3"-4" and I feed the entire tank 1 worm every couple days. I'm hoping that's the cause of my recent discovery. Just about an hour ago, which was also about 15 minutes after a worm feeding, I noticed feces coming from 1 jewel in particular that was almost white and very thick and stringy. It also seems to be hanging on longer than it should. They've all always had much thinner and dark feces. The rest seem to be doing fine but this one is the largest and more aggressive one in the tank so has the advantage when it comes to getting the most food....lol. I've been reading about this for the past hour and have come up with a few diagnoses...
I did read where over feeding of worms can cause this. I've also read where this could be a symptom of Bloat or a symtom of Heximita. I was under the impression that Bloat was more of a disease for fish that have a diet of more vegetable matter.
In looking at the tank now, all the fish seem fine. The white feces is gone. It's only occured once....so far. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. Hopefully I'm just a worried fish Dad!!! lol
