Today my Alpha male discus Stud hooked up with another discus (other than his first mate) and they spawned on the glass. After they spawned, Stud's first mate came and started fighting with his new mate and trying to eat the eggs! I never knew discuses were that jealous of each other. Has anybody else had experience with this?

Yup. Mine are doing the same thing. I figured out that I have two females and two males (my pb's and bd's) Not sure what my two new wild caughts are yet. My alpha blue diamond wants both girls to himself, but he prefers one over the other. He'll spawn with both but he will only keep the eggs from the one female. When he spawns with his second female, he'll eat the eggs while they are still spawning and he attacks the crap out of my other male. I added the two new fish to see if that would cut down the aggression. Its not. My solution is going to be to get a 55 or a 75 and move the pair into that for spawning. It'll at least give the other one a break until the fry need to grow out.

Mine started to breed not long ago but was a good parent. I remove the rest of the discus to give them space to breed. And I dont like to put any other fish in the tank to interfear their breeding hehe looks like another spawn is coming soon :). I be out of tank pretty soon.
