Hi :)

I'm about to buy and start growing some java moss (or xmas moss if I can find some because I prefer this) and I love the look of it when it is attached to coconut shells. But I have 2 questions...

a) How do I attach it? and

b) How do I make coconut shells safe for putting in my aquarium? (if I can buy them from lfs's then please say :) )

Thanks
Willow

attach with cotton thread, nylon thread, fishing line or cyanoacrylate (any glue like superglue where that is the primary ingrediant)

can't answer about the coconuts though, you can buy them on ebay I know that much, cheaper to do it yourself, but I've never done it. try searching the forum for making a coconut cave :good:

Some suggest that drilling the shell and threading fishing line/cotton through the holes and then tie it to the shell.

I've used glue to stick it to rocks. Some glues contain something toxic for fish but I cannot remember the name of it. I used a glue called gorilla glue, its good stuff and has been fine in my tank for over a year.

The shell itself I'm not sure about
