Java Moss

thinking about gettiung some java moss to tie to bogwood etc. question is can you grow it on anything or can it only be grown on bogwood. can i tie it to artificial decorations and/or rocks etc?

It will grow on most surfaces but it needs to be rough or craggy.

i ove java mos i saw a huge tank in a fish shop with java moss all over the bottome and no wood so im guna asume so

i saw a really good thread about this stuff!

the guy used fishing wire to tie it to really anything lol.

it doesnt have roots. it just uses its stem to take nutrients

Here's a great write up that I followed in an attempt to attach some java moss to a piece of slate. It grows VERY SLOW, so patience will be required. I hope mine turns out well, if my Kribs would just leave it alone.

very helpfull thankyou. whats its requirements in terms of light? i have 2 42 inch 38w t8 tubes but bearing in mind my tank is 2 foot deep and most of the moss would be in the bottom third of the tank would that be enough?
