Will it grow on granite rocks? If so how long will it take for the moss to "attach" itself to the rock?

It won't "attach" itself to the rock because it doesn't have roots. You need to tie it on with fishing line not cotton as this deteriorates in the water after time. However i find fine netting like from a body sponge far better for tying the moss down.

No roots? Interesting, now I'm curious about this stuff.
So no matter what it will never actually become attached/stuck/cling on to/any other suggestion to rocks, bogwood, etc?

It is true it doesnt have roots, but it will still attach via the leaves. There is only one moss that i know of that doesnt stay attached which is willow moss
