I am going to add Java Moss to a fry tank of mine and mostly need it for Infusoria. I have had a container with water and Java moss in it (that's all) in a dark place with no light for the past month or two. Are there infusoria on that or do I need fresh java moss?

Any time plants are present there are micro organisms present. They may not be exactly what you are looking for, but your fry will gobble them up just the same.

I have no doubt there will be bacteria growing in that tank in the dark. I would be very surprised to find out that the java moss is still healthy. Two months of no light is probably enough to significantly injure a plant.

Hi Rex740 :)

I don't know if this would help you, but I use filter squeezings to feed newly hatched corydoras fry. I just bury them in it and they eat the microorganisms in it for their first week or so. If your fry will eat off the bottom, you might want to try that if necessary.
