Java Moss And Slate

Will Java Moss adhere to a piece of slate? Slate is very smooth and I don't see how the moss will hold to it.

Your fingers wont be able to feel the very fine scratches in the surface of the slate so unless its polished to a mirror like finish the moss will find something to attach to I would think

I think the problem is that my LFS doesn't sell java moss that looks like what is pictured in the pinned article. They sell it in a 2" diameter patch. I suppose that I can follow the pinned instructions. It just won't look exactly like what was shown.

youve just got to take the patch and break it down. i originally bought a moderate handful of the stuff, ripped it apart into smaller pieces, tied it all down on rocks and wood, and now im constantly removing free and overgrown moss - the stuff is like a virus taking over.
