Java Fern And Java Moss

I got some java fern and java moss today from ebay.
My question is how do I clean them so I make sure nothing has come in with them

rinse under the tap, although moss is harder to clean. so sometimes, looking closely is better.

I would rinse them throughly and soaked them just to see them in water and see if they where clean.
