Jambo Has A Problem With His Eye

its got a cloudy patch on it, and blood shot round the sides, i text nelly and without a pic obviously he cant suggest much,so i raced up the LFS with the best pic i can get, and he says its pop eye and gave me "anti internal bacteria" it cant have been there ver long as i was playing with him yesterday morning and saw nothing.. anyway is this the right medication for him? ( he also said its due to poor tank conditions, but thats baffling me as i clean his tank and vac every saturday-at least 50%, but then saying that i have recently been over feeding him)
im trying to get a pic on, but im panicing and nothings working
im half way thru a WC and have put all the wood in the dishwasher, any thing else??

You could do some extra water changes, the clean water will help, does the med say if your suppose to do w/c with it? Probably not most dont, but I would anyway and re-dose for the amount of water you take out each time.

Have you tested the water lately? If not, can you do it now?

If youve only just noticed it, it cant be too bad and with the w/c and meds should clear up pretty soon

There is a good chance its not down to water quality, he may have scratched it on some ornaments or something and has got an infection that way.

Aquarium salt is good too, and epsom salts apparently, cant find the dosage thou, hold on.


OK, Add one 1Tbs of Aquarium Salt to every 5gal.
And add 1 Tbs of Epsom salt to every 10gal.

cheers minx, ill have a read of that later, im just about to strip down and clean the filter.ill do a test now and post the results its says i can dose twice then do a 30% wc before doing it again,and i can use aqualibrium salt at a dose of 2gm per litre. i havent dosed yet, ill get everything cleaned as fast as i can then start it

Dont clean that filter too much, just swish it about in some tank water.

ammonia 0
nitrate 10
nitrite 0
ph 6.8
in that case i wont touch the filter just replace the wool ( was done about 2 wks ago)

Probably just bashed himself, silly thing, im sure with the meds, salt and w/c it will clear up pretty quickly.

And as tempting as it is and the big sad face will plead, stop overfeeding him

having to do another wc as all the rubbish in the pipes just shot out ( the last time this happend i lost a clown loach!! ) so doing that as fast as the hose will go and have changed the wool, im thinking he may infact had banged his eye actually, you should see some of the positions he gets him self into to try to get the plec,and there are 3 large peices of wood in there usually.
will he be feeling ill with all this do you think, im only asking as hes not trying to attack me at all and thats not like him

NOW IM GONNA KILL HIM!!! thers nothing at all wrong with his eye!! was a piece of something stuck on it, just looked again and completley clean ( how much of a twat do i feel)
ill get the laptop out in a bit and show you the pics, at the moment the camera is saying communicatin error so ill try with that, but i think i panic`d in fairness could have been something, infact i think i know excatly what it may have been a bit of shell from a pea that i gave him last night

well its not me!! ive done jambos and the kribs tank, and thats it, im not doing anymore today im nervous i might find another serious problem
im gonna take great pleasure in telling the bloke at the lfs tho
