Sooo...Ive had a setup with 4 convicts (2 males and 2 females) and two jack dempsey for about 4 months. I added 2 jaguard cichlids recently, waited a day to add them and left then floating in the bag. I left to eat lunch and came back and they were both dead. All in all, Jaguars got dominated and im wondering, is it too late to add them? Ive got lots of hiding spaces and a 120g. Im thinking of getting bigger jaguars, since i know convicts are amazingly aggressive, even at small sizes.

I'm not sure if I read your post right, but did you leave them in the bag for a day?

I was just wonering the same. But in regards to your post, you might have a very hard time with 4 convicts. esspecially since you have 2 males and 2 females. If they breed at all, there will be a small war in the tank.

I was thinking the same thing. And all I'm seeing is an army of convicts beating each other senseless. LOL

If they had a jaguar pair I'd be worried for the convicts....

Are the JD's a pair also?

Cheers, sorry to hear about yours, not sure if it's a Jurupari, I'm going with Satanoperca cf. leucosticta.

But to stay on topic, if you have 3 pairs of cichlids in there and are trying to add another pair it will end in tears more often then not.
