Jager 300w Issue?

hi i purchased a brand new jager 300w for my juwel rio 400. after viewing the table i probably should have got the 250 w but they didn't have it in stock and my other heater was broken so i needed one stat! i set on last at 27 c and i woke up with the temp at 30 c! should i compensate the temp setting as this heater is slightly to big for my tank?

Just turn it down.

I never trust the setting on any heater, always the thermometer in the tank. Adjust yours until it keeps the required temp.

i dont think the thermoatats on heaters are accurate anyway. to get my tank temp right i set my heaters to 22 degrees. i use 2 hagen elite 300w btw

Also, the heating of the water is also going to be dependent on your rooms temperature as well.

hey thanks guys i think i need to get a electronic thermo as my current one seems to stick to the glass for about a minute gets attacked for some reason by my acara then bobs around the top.
