I been naughty and bought a baby Jag and a juvi male Green Terror, i'm not planning on keepign either but sellign them on, they are very rare around here and worth £££ so at £3 each, and the fact i never see them, i just had to!

My baby Jag is currently being bullied by a Blue Ram ;) hahahahaha

Anyway, how long will i be able to keep these monsters for until they need to be rehomed?

This was the first Jag i have ever seen that has not been a adult in a display tank!

The tank mates at the moment are

3 Severums of varying sizes
bristlenose
12 mixed medium tetras (colombians, bentosis)
blue ram
Honduran Red Point
Blue Acara

the Jag is 2" and the GT is 3.5"....i was thinking i could keep hold of them for 6 months before sellign them on? or does the Jag grow like a Oscar?

I know im gonna get told off for compatibility here ;) but trust me i know what im doing, alot of the 'incompatible' things were either picked up cheap or given to me, and i tend to do it when my fish are small...always have done.

My final stocking will be

2 x Severum
1 x Oscar
1 x Blue Acara
1 x HRP
1 x Plec

But not getting the Oscar until the other stuff is adult because they grow so #40## fast.

I keep RTMs, a slightly smaller version of Jags.

Even at 2" they were snapping up my buones aires tetra every night, I fear for your tetras 4sure. Your cichlids might be okay S/T, but Jags grow quick, from what I've heard same rate as O's.

i keep jags mate and you in for a long wait lol

I've read that Jags grow fast too, but I guess this may depend on how often you feed them.

brutis my old male grew from 1.5inches to 10inches in 6-8months...id worry quite soon with the tetra's ram and bn plec, could work but my moneys on not working...my boy would stand up to my oscars when they were 6-7inch and he was 2inch..he acually had them back down quite a few times

Trust me if he/she gets to 4" by next week, he/she would be gone ;)

Just to good of a opportunity to turn down really, never seen a juvi and i was to excited to walk past it :p plus it was in with a load of full grown mbuna chomping at him/her.

I'll keep a close eye, and if i see anything, hes gone.

That being said, the tetras and Ram etc will be offloaded as soon as i think my Sevs are big enough to hang with a Oscar anyway, they were just dirt cheap and being used as a tank filler because its a biggish tank (120g) and very empty!

The green Terror is amazing, i need to get some pictures up, i'm hoping he becomes one of those docile ones that alot of people say they have had because he is stunning.

sorry for the sarcasm mate but they tend to get quite big in a very short period of time

I'm used to it around here.

I'm not doing it because i'm a n00b,(15 years of fishkeeping) i'm doing it because they are impossible to find without driving a few hundred miles so it was a opportunity to do something i liked and to make some money.

Beautiful :)

I dunno what sex mine is, don't really care either, just want to keep it for a while.

I'm more excited about getting my Oscar later on so will trade in anything i don't want for a baby O when the time comes.

Plus i want to get a FX5 before i get my Oscar to go with my Fluval 406.

yay...now i wanna show off my old brutis

hehe mate we all at some point get an impulse buy....brutis was an impulse buy for me,

prob is all my impulse buys usually end up ruining the peace, ive done it with salvini/vieja/jag/snakeheads/pollieni cichlid,he was beautiful just beat everything up
